Please indicate the class year with your donation. All donations for a given class will be tracked permanently.
The intent of this Fund is to provide a way for alumni of Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS) and Concord High School (CHS), the predecessor high school to CCHS, to honor their school and class with contributions to The Scholarship Fund and, ultimately, if desired, to establish a Named Fund honoring their class.
The CHS/CCHS Alumni Scholarship (The Fund) will be awarded annually to one or more graduate(s) of CCHS who meets the defined criteria for scholarship recipients. The size of the annual scholarship award for each recipient will be decided by the Trustees and will depend on the earnings of the Fund as of the date of the award, but will generally equal or exceed $1000. All awards will be made in accordance with the then-current policies of The Scholarship Fund. If there are no eligible CCHS graduates in any given year, the Trustees have discretion to postpone the award to a future year when there are eligible CCHS graduates.
Any person or group can make a contribution to The Scholarship Fund for the Fund. Such donations must indicate that it is a donation to the Fund and indicate the class year to which the contribution should be credited.
All CHS and CCHS classes are eligible to be a Founding Member of the Fund. Founding Member classes must contribute at least $5,000 to the Fund in honor of their class between the dates of November 1, 2010 and December 31, 2016. The Scholarship Fund will make efforts to identify and publicize the Founding Member classes and their contributions to establish the Fund.
It is the intent of the Trustees that the Fund be a permanently endowed Fund which will exist in perpetuity to honor CCHS and CHS graduates; however, the Trustees reserve the right to make any modification(s) to the structure or existence of the Fund over time which they deem appropriate and consistent with the The Scholarship Fund bylaws.
All contributions to the Fund will be commingled with The Scholarship Fund assets in accordance with investment practices as well as state and federal statutes governing such endowments.
The Scholarship Fund will maintain records of the contributions designated for each class. The cumulative amount of contributions for each class will be available annually to the President of the Class or designee(s). At such time as contributions for a specific class reach $20,000 (or the amount then-required to fully endow a Named Fund) representatives of the class can set up a Named Fund for that class as a permanently endowed scholarship. It is contemplated that this new Named Fund would be named the CCHS Class of XX Scholarship; however, class representatives have full discretion to select a different name. When the new Named Fund is established, a Memorandum of Understanding for Named Funds must be executed by class representatives. There is no time limit for a class to reach the amount then-required by to establish their Named Fund.
Contributions to the Fund that do not identify a class will be credited to, and will remain in the Fund, and will not be eligible to be included in a class' future Named Fund.
The Scholarship Fund is an IRS 501(c) (3) organization; therefore, all gifts are tax deductible within the limitations of U.S. federal income tax laws.
