STAND BY! THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF CONCORD AND CARLISLE PHONATHON SET FOR MARCH 28, 29

press release: 3/19/2021

On Sunday, March 28 and Monday, March 29, phones will be ringing throughout Concord and Carlisle as members of the Concord-Carlisle High School National Honor Society take to the lines for The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle’s annual fundraising Phonathon. Given the challenges faced by community families during this historic pandemic year, this annual event is taking an even more important role in raising funds essential to providing need-based college scholarships for students who live in or have graduated from secondary schools in Concord or Carlisle. The student-staffed Phonathon is instrumental in enabling The Scholarship Fund to continue its 55 years of community outreach that to date, that has resulted in awarding over $3 million in scholarships toward post-secondary education.

The Phonathon of course will be a bit different this year, as students and Scholarship Board members will gather in the CCHS cafeteria in accordance with stringent social distancing and COVID safety guidelines. In spite of these necessary protocols, however, the enthusiasm of the volunteers has not dampened. CCHS junior and 2021 Phonathon volunteer Mia Caruso commented, “I’m excited to participate in the Phonathon because it provides need-based scholarships to students who are or have been members of our community, and it’s a fun event with other students. We will call past and potential new donors to answer questions they have about The Scholarship Fund in the hope that they donate. Especially during the pandemic, it’s a great opportunity for students to give back to a community that has truly held together during really tough times.”

Join Mia and her classmates in this heartfelt mission to give back. When your phone rings, have your questions ready to learn more about The Scholarship Fund. Our student ambassadors can explain how to make a tax-deductible donation, via The Scholarship Fund website, or by mail. No amount is too small—this more year than ever, your support is needed to make the educational journeys of our local youth more obtainable.

Since 1966, The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle has supported more than 1,400 students from the Concord and Carlisle communities. For more information on The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle, please visit our website: www.thescholarshipfundofcc.org
