The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle welcomes the Arthur (“Art”) and Lee Milliken Memorial Scholarship Fund to its roster of Named Funds. Prior to his passing in October 2018, Art established the scholarship in his and his wife’s names in recognition of their strong belief in public education and to providing educational opportunities to the youth of Carlisle and Concord. The Scholarship will be awarded for the first time in May 2020 for the 2020-21 academic year.

For fifty years, the Millikens were beloved citizens and true champions of the Carlisle community.  Dedicated to fostering opportunities and improving outcomes for children, youth and families, Art long-served as a member of the board of directors of Concord Family Service/Concord Assabet Family & Adolescent Services and the board of SPIN USA. In line with his love of education, Art was committed to educating the community about environmental preservation, serving from 1997 to 2004 on the board of the Carlisle Conservation Foundation, and at the end of his tenure, was a recipient of the Conservationist of the Year Award. In 2005, Art and Lee received the Carlisle Outstanding Citizen Award, presented by the Old Home Day Association, for their decades of commitment to the Town of Carlisle.
